Soccer Recap: King George Comes Up Short

After flying high against Caroline on Tuesday, King George came back down to earth. The Foxes fell just short of the Spotsylvania Knights by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. If King George were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to Spotsylvania when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

King George has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 1-5-1 record this season. As for Spotsylvania, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. King George will venture away from home to challenge Chancellor at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Spotsylvania, they will head out to take on James Monroe at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Spotsylvania will be up against James Monroe's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.5 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
