Basketball Game Preview: Fredericktown Black Cats vs. Caruthersville Tigers

The Fredericktown Black Cats will venture away from home to take on the Caruthersville Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Fredericktown was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 54-48 to Festus. The Black Cats have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Caruthersville). They took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging an 85-44 victory over Malden. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Tigers with their most commanding win of the season.

Caruthersville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Fredericktown, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
