Preview: Johnson-Brock Eagles vs. Winside Wildcats

Johnson-Brock is 1-0 against Winside since October of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Johnson-Brock Eagles will be playing at home against the Winside Wildcats at 16:00 p.m. One thing working in Johnson-Brock's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.

Last Friday, Johnson-Brock blew past Diller-Odell, posting a 66-8 victory on the road. Fans of Johnson-Brock have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.

Sloan Pelican continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 105 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries, while also throwing for 174 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes. Another player making a difference was Chase VanWinkle, who picked up 96 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Winside didn't have too much trouble with East Butler at home on Friday as they won 20-6. The victory was just what Winside needed coming off of a 46-20 loss in their prior match.

Kaden Hunt got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries.

Winside's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Aden Sellin and his three sacks.

Johnson-Brock's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Winside, their victory on Friday bumped their record up to 3-5.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday' match: Johnson-Brock has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 402.5 total yards per game. It's a different story for Winside, though, as they've been averaging only 214.2 per game. Will Johnson-Brock be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will Winside flip the ?

Everything came up roses for Johnson-Brock against Winside in their previous matchup back in October of 2021 as the squad secured a 58-12 victory. Will Johnson-Brock repeat their success, or does Winside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
