Volleyball Game Preview: Cypress Creek Cougars vs. Memorial Mustangs + Official Tickets

The Cypress Creek Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Memorial Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Cypress Creek turned things around against Cypress Ridge on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Rams 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since August 30th.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Cypress Creek who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-14, 23-25, 25-19, 23-25, 15-10.

Meanwhile, Memorial had just enough and edged out Cy-Fair 3-2 on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now won six in a row.

Memorial had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-9, 15-5.

Memorial's win bumped their record up to 23-10. As for Cypress Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 23-18.

Cypress Creek came up short against Memorial when the teams last played back in September, falling 3-1. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
