Basketball Recap: Navajo Prep Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Navajo Prep came tearing into Thursday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Thoreau Hawks by a score of 43-36. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Despite the defeat, Thoreau saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Madison Woodie posted 12 points.

Navajo Prep's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Thoreau, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.

Navajo Prep has already played their next contest, a 64-32 victory against Zuni on the 21st. As for Thoreau, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 41-26 loss against Tohatchi on the 20th.
