Softball Recap: Nelson County Comes Up Short

Nelson County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 7-3 to the Stuarts Draft Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-3 back in March.

Nelson County's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Stuarts Draft, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Coming up, Nelson County will challenge Altavista at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Colonels have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.27 runs per game on average), something the Governors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Stuarts Draft, they will take on Buckingham at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
