Basketball Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short

If Lincoln was feeling good fresh off their 65-14 takedown of Jefferson on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lincoln Lynx took a 54-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Omaha Central Eagles. The Lynx were up 23-8 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Despite the loss, Lincoln still got an impressive performance from Hutson Rau, who made all 5 shots she took for 11 points and seven rebounds. Rau is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Addie Naughton, who posted 16 points and six assists.

Lincoln now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Omaha Central, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4.

Lincoln will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Papillion-LaVista at 3:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Omaha Central, they will take on Marian in a tournament on December 28th. Marian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.5 points per game this season.
