Basketball Recap: Luke Deyoung's Big Game Can't Quite Lead North Newton over Tri-County

North Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Tri-County Cavaliers, falling 54-29. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-10.

North Newton lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Luke DeYoung, who shot 63% from the field to rack up 12 points. Tri-County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drew Foster, who went 5-for-8 en route to 12 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Foster, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 12 points.

North Newton's loss dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Tri-County, their win bumped their record up to 10-11.
