Football Recap: Boyd Takes a Loss + How To Watch

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Boyd and Ponder had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Lions by a score of 32-29 on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost three in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Boyd lost, don't look at Aiden Young. Despite the final result, he rushed for 62 yards and one touchdown.

It was another big night for Tyson Price, who rushed for 217 yards and one score on only ten carries, and also threw for 281 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes for Ponder. With that strong performance, Price is now averaging an impressive 119.5 rushing yards per game. Kaden Allred was another key player, rushing for 73 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries.

Boyd's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Ponder, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coincidentally, Boyd and Ponder will both be playing Vernon the next time they take the field. The Lions will host the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Yellowjackets will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
