Softball Recap: St. Anthony Takes a Loss

St. Anthony was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the St. Paul Swordsmen, falling 18-1. On the bright side, the one- run performance marked the Saints' highest-scoring match to date.

St. Anthony saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ivy Burnham, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base was Burnham's first of the season. Nata Leomiti was another, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

St. Anthony's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for St. Paul, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-9.

Coming up, St. Anthony will be playing at home against Saint Joseph at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Paul, they will challenge Huntington Beach at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
