Baseball Recap: William Byrd Comes Up Short

Blacksburg hit William Byrd with a seven-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Terriers fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 7-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-3 back in March.

William Byrd's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Blacksburg, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

William Byrd will host Lord Botetourt at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blacksburg, they are taking a road trip to take on Pulaski County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
