Davies Career & Tech's game on Saturday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. They breezed past the Hope Blue Wave to the tune of 51-20. The Patriots not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since September 26, 2024 (when they won 49-6).

A big part of Davies Career & Tech's win came down to the chemistry between Tyrell Barros and his top target Edgar Melendez. Barros threw for 361 yards and five touchdowns while completing 81% of his passes while Melendez picked up 209 receiving yards and three scores. Melendez really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 97 yards. Jomar Lopes did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 85 receiving yards.

Davies Career & Tech didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Hope to a completion percentage of just 12.5%. Given Barros' standout performance, it's clear the Blue Wave's secondary just wasn't on the same level.

When it comes to explaining why Hope lost, don't look at Neciah Jalloh. Despite the final result, he rushed for 155 yards and one TD while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Christopher Martinez was another key player, rushing for 57 yards and one score on only six carries.

Davies Career & Tech's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Hope, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Davies Career & Tech wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 46-14 win against Exeter-West Greenwich/Prout on the 2nd. As for Hope, they have also already played their next matchup, a 32-0 defeat against Smithfield on the 3rd.
