Recap: Ansonia Chargers vs. Woodland Regional Hawks
The Ansonia Chargers had to endure a three-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged Woodland Regional out 49-46. That's another feather in the cap for Ansonia, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Woodland Regional's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was John Napiello, who scored 15 points. Dean Accetura was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
The victory got Ansonia back to even at 1-1. As for Woodland Regional, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Ansonia will be home for the holidays to greet Seymour at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Seymour focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Monday. As for Woodland Regional, they will head out on the road to face off against Torrington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Torrington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
