Baseball Recap: Del Campo Comes Up Short

Del Campo had lost five straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 9-19 to make it six. They fell 5-2 to the Twelve Bridges Rhinos. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Rhinos this season, with their most recent defeat being a 15-6 loss on Wednesday.

Del Campo saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Placencia, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

As for Twelve Bridges, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games.

On Twelve Bridges' side, Johnny Bolanos tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. Bolanos has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ty Uhde, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Jackson Whitesides, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Del Campo has already played their next matchup, an 11-4 win against Oakdale on the 6th. As for Twelve Bridges, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-1 victory against Pioneer on the 6th.
