Perry High School product is two wins away from leading the San Francisco 49ers back to the Super Bowl.

Arizona high school football product Brock Purdy was in the spotlight Saturday, leading the San Francisco 49ers to a 41-23 win over Seattle in the wild-card round of the NFL playoffs.  The rookie quarterback played as a prep at Perry (Gilbert, Ariz.)

Saturday against the Seahawks, Purdy completed 18 of 30 pass attempts for 332 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. He also ran for 16 yards and a score.

Even LeBron James was excited about his performance.
Purdy appeared in nine games and started the last five of the regular season for San Francisco, throwing for 1,374 yards and 13 touchdowns against just four picks.

At Perry, Purdy led the program to state championship game appearances in 2016 and 2017. He threw for 8,932 yards with 107 touchdown passes in his high school career while also finding the end zone on the ground 10 times.

During the 2017 season, Purdy threw for 4,410 yards and 57 touchdowns (an Arizona 6A record) while also rushing for 1,106 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was named state Player of the Year by the Arizona Republic.

Regarded as a three-star prospect by 247Sports, Purdy signed with Iowa State and started 46 games for the Cyclones. He threw for over 12,000 yards and 81 touchdowns during four years at the school from 2018-21.

San Francisco selected Purdy with the final pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, making him Mr. Irrelevant. But he's quickly shed that label as the signal caller for the NFL's hottest team and perhaps the favorite to represent the NFC in February's Super Bowl.
