After seven games on the road, Groesbeck is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Centerville Tigers at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Groesbeck will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1471st, while Centerville is ranked 528th).
Last Saturday, Groesbeck took a serious blow against Valley Mills, falling 62-29.
Meanwhile, Centerville took their match at home on Monday with ease, bagging a 70-40 win over Riesel. With that win, Centerville brought their scoring average up to 50.6 points per game.
Centerville had a senior duo take command as Trayce Schwab went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 4 assists and Wade Neyland scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Neyland has scored at least 25% of Centerville's points. Zach Waters was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five assists.
Groesbeck's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Centerville, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3.
