Baseball Recap: Madison Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Madison came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Fayette Ware Wildcats 13-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Garrett Clark made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one stolen base and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dylan Stranak, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Ryker Stegall was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Madison kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 9.2.

Madison's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Fayette Ware, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Madison will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
