Recap: Illiana Christian Vikings vs. River Forest Ingots
The Illiana Christian Vikings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 75-45 victory over River Forest at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Illiana Christian has managed all season.
It was another big night for Andy Spoelman, who scored 28 points along with three steals. Those 28 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Bultema, who scored ten points.
The win got Illiana Christian back to even at 3-3. As for River Forest, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Illiana Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Chicago Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 16th. Chicago Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 512th in Illinois, while Illiana Christian is ranked 217th in Indiana). River Forest will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South Newton at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
