Baseball Game Preview: Estancia Eagles vs. Anaheim Colonists

For the second straight game, Estancia will face off against Anaheim. The Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Colonists at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Estancia has three straight victories, Anaheim has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Wednesday, Estancia narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Anaheim 5-3. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly two runs.

Lincoln Silva spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Nico Viramontes was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Dodge, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Estancia pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Anaheim, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
