Baseball Recap: Box Elder Comes Up Short

Box Elder was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 9-3 to the Viewmont Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 last Monday.

Box Elder saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Porter Francom, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was Francom's first of the season.

Box Elder's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Viewmont, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Box Elder will take on Bountiful at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Viewmont, they will square off against Northridge at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
