It was a proper cat-fight when Eunice took on Jal on Friday. The Eunice Cardinals blew past the Jal Panthers 62-39. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Jal had strong showings from Mayrin Nieto, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds, and Johnna Butts, who posted 16 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Butts a new career-high in points.

Eunice has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Jal's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14.

Eunice didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-51 loss against Tatum on the 18th. As for Jal, they have also already played their next contest, a 51-39 defeat against Texico on the 18th.
