Recap: Central Academy Cougars vs. Forest Hills Yellow Jackets
The Central Academy Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 60-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Forest Hills. If Central Academy hoped to take revenge for the 67-44 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Central Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zach Mcdowell, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Michael Hoff was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Forest Hills found their leader in underclassman Amari Melton, who scored 18 points. Melton has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kj Chambers, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Central Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Forest Hills, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Academy will face off against Monroe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Monroe presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Central Academy in North Carolina (Monroe is ranked 282nd, while Central Academy is ranked 640th). Forest Hills' road trip will continue as they head out to face Anson at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Anson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 268 points over their last four matchups.
