Basketball Recap: Mekhi Allen's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Queen's Grant over Forsyth Country Day

The Queen's Grant Stallions lost to the Forsyth Country Day Furies on the road by a 74-56 margin on Saturday. The loss was the Stallions' first of the season.

Several Stallions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mekhi Allen, who went 8-for-19 to rack up 21 points and six boards. Allen continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bobby Montgomery III, who posted 12 points and six rebounds.

Queen's Grant's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Forsyth Country Day, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Queen's Grant will head out on the road to challenge Ambassador Christian School at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Forsyth Country Day, they will be playing at home against Victory Christian Center at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Furies will be up against the Kings' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.25 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
