De Soto extended their winning streak to eight on Thursday, bumping them up to 10-2. They came out on top against the Kickapoo Panthers by a score of 8-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-2 last Tuesday.

The team relied heavily on Griffin Hanson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jackson Trussoni, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

As for Kickapoo, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly five runs.

On Kickapoo's side, Rhonan Culver was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. De Soto is set to challenge their familiar foe Ithaca at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pirates 2.5, the Bulldogs 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Kickapoo will take on rival North Crawford at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
