Softball Recap: Genoa-Kingston Takes a Loss

Genoa-Kingston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Dakota Indians, falling 14-3. The Cogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Olivia Vasak made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Provost, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Genoa-Kingston's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11-1. As for Dakota, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Genoa-Kingston wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-0 win against Dixon on the 28th. As for Dakota, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-3 loss against Oregon on the 26th.
