Volleyball Recap: Lexington Christian Eagles vs. Scott County Cardinals

Lexington Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Scott County Cardinals. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in September of 2017, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lexington Christian took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-18, 15-12.

Hailey Jude paced Lexington Christian's offense, picking up 17 kills. Jude got some help from Kitty Meade and her 17 assists. Meade was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Lexington Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Scott County, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-1.

Coming up, Lexington Christian will host Trinity Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Scott County, they will head out to take on Simon Kenton at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
