Baseball Game Preview: Charter Oak Chargers vs. Wilson Wildcats

For the second straight game, Charter Oak will face off against Wilson. The Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Charter Oak has four straight victories, Wilson has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Charter Oak lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Wilson, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. The Chargers put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 11-1 win on Tuesday.

Marcus Reese tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. He has become a key player for Charter Oak: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 4-8 otherwise.

At the plate, Charter Oak got a big performance out of Mason Rosales, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Rosales a new career-high. Joaquin Cervantes was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Charter Oak's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Wilson, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
