Basketball Game Preview: Altamont Longhorns vs. Wendover Wildcats

Altamont is on a five-game streak of home losses, Wendover a nine-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Altamont Longhorns will host the Wendover Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Altamont is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Duchesne on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Altamont had to suffer through a 64-22 loss at the hands of Duchesne. The Longhorns were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-10.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Wendover took on Tabiona on Saturday. Wendover lost 55-33 to Tabiona. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wildcats have suffered against the Tigers since January 7, 2022.

Wendover's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Altamont, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

Altamont ended up a good deal behind Wendover in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, losing 45-30. Can Altamont avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
