Basketball Recap: Fort White Takes a Loss

On Thursday, the Fort White Indians came up short against the Gainesville Hurricanes and fell 55-48. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 313th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 86th).

Despite the loss, Fort White still got an impressive performance from Jayden Jackspn, who went 12 for 24 on his way to 28 points. Jackspn's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tafari Moe, who posted 18 points and six rebounds.

Fort White's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Gainesville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.

Fort White didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-50 defeat against Santa Fe on the 3rd. As for Gainesville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 37-30 win against Lakewood on the 4th.
