Football Recap: Culver City Comes Up Short

Culver City extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-4. They came up short against the Mira Costa Mustangs, falling 37-14. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.

Despite the loss, Culver City still got an impressive performance from Nicholas Hoang, who threw for 259 yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 37 yards and one score. A healthy portion of Hoang's aerial production (126 yards to be exact) went to Harley Moore.

As for Mira Costa, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won three games by 23 points or more so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mira Costa to victory, but perhaps none more so than Liam Meeker, who threw for 207 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 37 yards and one score. AJ McBean was another key player, gaining 128 total yards and a touchdown.

Coming up, Culver City will face off against Leuzinger at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Centaurs will need to watch out since the Olympians have now posted at least 31 points in their last five contests. As for Mira Costa, they will take on Inglewood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Sentinels have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
