Baseball Recap: Wekiva Takes a Loss

Wekiva was the 15-0 winner over Colonial when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wekiva Mustangs came up short against the Colonial Grenadiers on Friday, falling 13-1. The Mustangs' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Wekiva saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Reinert, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Wekiva's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Colonial, they moved to 3-5 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Wekiva will be taking part in a tournament against Lake Buena Vista at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Wekiva has given up an average of 11.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Colonial, they will take on Jones in a tournament on Monday. Colonial is facing Jones at the right time seeing as Jones is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
