Baseball Recap: Platte Valley Comes Up Short

If Platte Valley was feeling good fresh off their 7-1 takedown of Wiggins last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Broncos took a 13-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highland Huskies on Thursday. The Broncos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Platte Valley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jeremiah Molinar, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Another was Dagan Gomez, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Platte Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Highland, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Platte Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Bennett on the 22nd. As for Highland, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-10 loss against Haxtun on the 22nd.
