Loyd Star has gone a perfect 10-0 against Enterprise recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Hornets will look to defend their home field against the Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. Loyd Star is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.

Loyd Star took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past Vicksburg 5-4.

Layla Burt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Loyd Star saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Kate Britt, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Ainsley Gennaro was another, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Enterprise's offense. They lost 13-0 to Stringer on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their meetings with the Red Devils: they've now lost four in a row.

Loyd Star has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Enterprise, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.

Loyd Star came out on top in a nail-biter against Enterprise when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 5-3. Do the Hornets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Yellowjackets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
