Baseball Game Preview: Troy Trojans vs. Butler Aviators

The Troy Trojans will head out to take on the Butler Aviators at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Troy has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with four straight defeats, while Butler will come in with eight straight victories.

Friday just wasn't the day for Troy's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fairborn on Friday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Trojans were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Butler posted their closest win since May 23, 2024 on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Springboro, sneaking past 7-6.

Butler's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Troy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Troy came up short against Butler when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 7-3. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
