Baseball Recap: The Webb School Sets Scoring Season-High Against University School of Nashville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask The Webb School). They put the hurt on the University School of Nashville Tigers with a sharp 19-2 win on Tuesday. With that victory, the Feet brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Sammy Ledbetter was a standout: he scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Evan Kirby was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

The Webb School was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in three consecutive games.

The Webb School has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for University School of Nashville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
