Baseball Recap: Cardington-Lincoln Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Cardington-Lincoln and Pleasant meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Pirates fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 4-3. The Pirates were not able to make up for their loss to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Cardington-Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Pleasant, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-10 record this season.

Cardington-Lincoln and Pleasant could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Pirates (ranked 258th) will meet Big Walnut (ranked 29th) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Pleasant will take on Shelby at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (418 vs. 208).
