Preview: Centennial Spartans vs. Seguin Cougars
Centennial and Seguin are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Centennial Spartans will be home for the holidays to greet the Seguin Cougars at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Centennial is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
Centennial's 28-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell just short of Mansfield Timberview by a score of 44-41. While losing is never fun, Centennial can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 991st, while Mansfield Timberview is ranked 72nd).
Meanwhile, Seguin beat Burleson 61-54 on Tuesday.
Centennial's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-13. As for Seguin, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.
Centennial came up short against Seguin in their previous matchup back in January, falling 54-44. Can Centennial avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
