Basketball Game Preview: Bayou Academy Colts vs. St. Joseph Catholic Bruins

The Bayou Academy Colts will face off against the St. Joseph Catholic Bruins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bayou Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully St. Joseph Catholic likes a good challenge.

While Bayou Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 77-64 victory over Pillow Academy on Tuesday. The Colts haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for St. Joseph Catholic against Central Hinds Academy on Tuesday as the squad secured a 56-24 victory. The Bruins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 32 points or more this season.

St. Joseph Catholic's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Bayou Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.

Bayou Academy strolled past St. Joseph Catholic in their previous meeting back in February of 2022 by a score of 62-44. Will the Colts repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
