Basketball Recap: Soledad Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Soledad can now relate to. They took a 52-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the El Camino Colts.

Despite the defeat, Soledad saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Pedro Morales Jr on his way to 16 points and five assists. What's more, Morales Jr also posted a 50% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Anikan Tavarez was another key player, putting up seven points and six rebounds.

Soledad's loss dropped their record down to 15-11. As for El Camino, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-6.

Soledad does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for El Camino, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 70-54 defeat against Santa Cruz on the 25th.
