Basketball Preview: Summit Christian Academy Eagles vs. Haskell Haymakers
Summit Christian Academy and the Haymakers are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Summit Christian Academy Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Haskell Haymakers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Summit Christian Academy will be looking to keep their 11-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
In what's become a running theme this season, Summit Christian Academy gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 54-26 win over Mounds. Given Summit Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 466th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Valeria Hill was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Garnatz, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Haskell's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Porter. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Haskell in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now lost four in a row.
Summit Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 17-1. As for Haskell, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.
Everything came up roses for Summit Christian Academy against the Haymakers in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 55-28 win.
