RED BAY, Ala. -
Wellborn (Anniston, Ala.) snapped the eight-game winning streak of
Red Bay (Ala.), with a 29-8 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Landon MacHristie touchdown pass to
Devron Taylor in the second quarter, the Panthers were up 15-8 at the half.
Wellborn grew its lead to 13 points entering the fourth quarter. WHS scored once in the quarter on a MacHristie touchdown run.
With the win the Anniston school extended its winning streak to six games. Wellborn defeated Weaver 21-14 last week.
Red Bay's only touchdown came on a 65-yard run in the first quarter.
Coming into the game the Panthers had allowed 19.6 points per game this year.
The loss comes after Red Bay defeated Marion County 48-38 last week.
