For the second straight game, Independence will face off against Liberty. Independence will be playing at home against Liberty at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Independence is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.

Independence is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They lost 11-5 to Liberty. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Falcons have suffered since April 9, 2024.

For Liberty's part, Cash Gerecke looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). Liberty is undefeated when Gerecke allowsone or fewer earned runs, but 2-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Aden Manning was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Ray Villalobos`, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI.

Liberty always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.

With the victory, Liberty broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-5. As for Independence, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

Independence's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's contest. Independence has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game.
