Softball Recap: Case Beats Tyngsborough for Their Ninth Straight Win

Case waltzed into their match on Saturday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They beat the Tyngsborough Tigers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-6 on Saturday.

Lila Alvarez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alyana DeJesus was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Ella Preston, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Case hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive contests.

Case's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-5. As for Tyngsborough, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 23-6-1.

As of now, neither Case nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
