Basketball Recap: Valley Takes a Loss

Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-38 heartbreaker at the hands of the Deerfield-Windsor Knights. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 303rd in Alabama, while the Knights are ranked 27th in Georgia).

When it comes to explaining why Valley lost, don't look at Galvin Goss. Despite the final result, he went 5 for 10 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds. Goss is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Azerion Jennings, who posted nine points.

Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Deerfield-Windsor, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Valley and Notre Dame Academy will face off at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
