Basketball Recap: Coosa Takes a Loss

If Coosa was feeling good fresh off their 82-26 takedown of Dalton Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Coosa Eagles lost 79-56 to the Chattooga Indians on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 61-45 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February.

Chattooga was led to victory by Dan Meyer and Quarry Gibson. Meyer posted 31 points, while Gibson had 27 points. The contest was Meyer's fourth in a row with at least ten points. DJ Etchison was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Coosa's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Chattooga, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Coosa is taking a road trip to square off against Fannin County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Chattooga and Christian Heritage will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chattooga is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 70.6 points per game this season.
