Volleyball Recap: Sierra's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

It was a good run, but Sierra unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 3-1 to the Manteca Buffaloes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buffaloes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in March.

Sierra started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 26-24, 25-18, 27-25.

Manteca found their leader in sophomore Alex Khizeran, who had 23 digs and one assist.

Sierra's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Manteca, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Sierra is set to take on their familiar foe Patterson at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Manteca will face off against rival Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
