Hough and Hopewell are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Hough Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the Hopewell Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hough is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
Hough can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Harding University 63-32 at home. The high-flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Hough considering their 24-point performance the contest before.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hough to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abby Law, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Otto, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Hopewell was beaten by North Mecklenburg 81-13 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Hopewell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 479th, while North Mecklenburg is ranked 50th).
Hough has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Hopewell, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-20 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Hough against Hopewell in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 63-11 victory. In that matchup, Hough amassed a halftime lead of 43-5, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
