Basketball Recap: David Crockett Comes Up Short

After flying high against Sullivan East on Friday, David Crockett came back down to earth. The David Crockett Pioneers fell to the Dobyns-Bennett Indians 53-48. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pioneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-49 back in December of 2024.

David Crockett has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season. As for Dobyns-Bennett, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.

Coming up, David Crockett will head out on the road to square off against Tennessee at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tennessee will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something David Crockett surely won't give up without a fight. As for Dobyns-Bennett, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against South Greene at 8:00 p.m. One thing working in South Greene's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 games.
