Softball Game Preview: Northside Vikings vs. William Byrd Terriers

The Northside Vikings will head out on the road to take on the William Byrd Terriers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Northside's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matches, but Friday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Northside might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 9-2 to Lord Botetourt, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Meanwhile, William Byrd posted their closest win since April 4th on Thursday. They never let Pulaski County get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Northside's loss dropped their record down to 3-19. As for William Byrd, they moved to 10-13 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Northside suffered a grim 19-1 defeat to William Byrd in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
