Volleyball Recap: Grovetown Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After losing to Harlem the last time they met, Grovetown decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Warriors came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The matchup marked the Warriors' most dominant victory of the season so far.

While Grovetown won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-23.

Ari Stewart paced Grovetown's offense, picking up seven kills. Stewart got some help from Abi Widener and her 14 assists. Adelena Marquez controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Grovetown's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7. As for Harlem, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Coming up, Grovetown will be playing at home against Greenbrier at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harlem, they will head out on the road to challenge Cross Creek at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
